The Well-Gardened Mind: The Restorative Power of Nature

Author: Sue Stuart-Smith

Oh nature, what can’t it do? It’s like the Swiss Army Knife of life! I mean, it’s not just good for providing us with oxygen, shelter, and Instagram-worthy scenery, it’s also a facilitation ninja!

Who knew that spending time in the great outdoors could boost your productivity, creativity, and mood? Not me, until my friend Alexis recommended this book to me. And let me tell you, if there’s anyone who knows the power of nature, it’s Alexis. She left her CEO job to start a social enterprise called Root in Nature, which brings the healing power of plants to the community. Talk about a green thumb!

And don’t even get me started on Barbara Pederson. She’s a superstar facilitator and apparently, a nature aficionado. She recently blogged about how spending time in nature helps her come up with her best facilitation session designs. I guess you could say she’s a facilitator and a forestator!

So there you have it, folks. Nature not only gives us pretty pictures for our social media feeds, but it also helps us be more productive, creative, and happy. Who needs coffee when you have trees?
