Here is my short review:
đ I find even when I sign onto this social media platforms, we tend to highlight how great we are, what impactful work weâre doing, and our positive ripple effect in the world.
đ We tend to blame all our personal and organizational faults on external factorsâŚ
đ Generally, the natural human tendency is to blame everything outside ourselves. We do this at an organizational level too. I see this so often in my organizational development work!
đ This is a hard book to read â not because the language or ideas are lofty (just the opposite, actually, the ideas have been made extremely accessible).
đ This book was hard to read because it forced me to take a hard look at the way I live, the way I treat others, and the way I navigate through business, personal, and other situations.
đ This book beautifully reminded me how we deceive ourselvesâŚhow we often need things to go wrong in order to feel justified in that blame â thatâs not a very easy truth to reconcile oneself with! đđ
đ I guess what Iâm trying to suggest is not so much we highlight negative aspects of ourselves or our organizations⌠but rather engage in honest self reflection and understand that problems are never outside; the blame game is how we deceive ourselves⌠and ultimately, and rather effectively, undermine any solution to the problem!
